Spent nearly a whole morning making newspaper pots with a paper pot press gift we got last Xmas and pricking out a shed load of flower seedlings.
From left to right, Calendula "Playtime Mixed", Scabiosa "Summer Sundae" and the two larger trays are Sweet Sultan "Mixed"
There are still some Calendula still to prick out in a seed tray, but we will get to them when they are a little larger.
We also have some Linum Grandiflorum "Bright Eyes" and Echinacea "Green Twister" to pot up that are in a seed trays inside the house. So we will be making even more little paper pots for these.
- Linum Grandiflorum "Bright Eyes" £0.99 (300 seeds)
- Echinacea "Green Twister" £3.69 (10 seeds)
- Calendula "Playtime Mixed" £0.99 (75 seeds)
- Scabiosa "Summer Sundae" £0.99 (40 seeds)
- Sweet Sultan "Mixed" £1.85 (100 seeds)
We have never sown flowers from seed before, but this year we thought we would give it a go to save on paying for bedding plants from the Garden Center's. A normal bedding plant in a 10cm pot or Jumbo plug would normally cost around the £2.50 mark. So this should save us a little bit of cash.
