A good couple of days at the Allotment this weekend, digging over the bed for the next batch of Broad Beans, Bunyards Exhibition this time.
Took ages to dig over that small section of the Allotment, as the ground was rock hard and there where quite a few weeds that needed removing. With both of us digging and weeding we got it ready for sowing 3 rows of 15 seeds, and a few extras at the end of each row.
The Broad Bean 'Aquadulce Claudia' are now mostly in flower now, the plants are quite compact but with lots of flowers, so with a bit of luck we will get a nice early crop. These got a good weeding this weekend as well. It's been so cold and dry we are glad they have survived.Harvested 3 more of the Cabbage (Kilaton F1), around about 400g each. That's all of them now just over 5 kilos of Cabbage this year alone, and that not including any we picked pre 2021.
The Kale Borecole Vates Blue Curled is now going to seed and starting to flower, but we still took home 500g of kale florets and leaves. We are going to attempt to save seed from these kale this year, so will let one set seed and we will collect them for planting 2022.
The Garlic got a good tidy up and are looking pretty good so far. It really need a good rain soon as the ground is so dry it's starting to crack.
