Last year, we grew some sunflowers at the Allotment from seed from a neighbours plot, we saved back some of the seeds to plant this year.
We have sown all of the saved seed today into two medium sized pots as there are 2 types of sunflower, a standard large one, and a smaller one.
Hopefully some will germinate and we can transplant them out around the Allotment, and maybe the garden.
Whilst food shopping in our local Morrisons at the tills they where giving away free packets of dwarf sunflower seeds as part of the supermarket chain’s Seeds of Hope campaign. The nice lady at the till let us have a couple of packets, one for us, and one for our grandson to plant.
There where about 10 seeds in the packet, so these also where planted in a medium sized pot as well.
