Climbing French Bean Cobra, Second Try.

Back in May 2021 we had direct sown two types of Climbing bean, Goldfield on the first 12 canes, six canes on each side, with 4 bean seeds at each cane. Climbing French Bean Cobra on the next set of 12 canes, again 4 seeds per cane, from the 96 seeds sown, only 3 Cobra plants made it through.

Fortunately we had extra Climbing French Bean Cobra seeds spare. So in mid June we planted up some more but this time in two Root Trainer Module trays, 32 cells in each. One tray of Cobra beans and a second tray of unknown bean seeds we had knocking about in the bottom of the allotment bag.

A couple of the unknown beans germinated and about 80% of the Cobra beans, after growing them on for a few weeks, with the protection of the poly-tunnel at home, we planted out a new bean crop today.

So no Goldfield Beans this year, but hopefully these new Cobra plants will do well.
