More Allotment Prep.

A great and productive day at the Allotment today. Took some more old decking boards down and put an edge to a small bed we have on the fruit side of the plot. We will be using this space for direct sowing Beetroot Boltardy.

Managed to de-weed around some bronze fennel, two Aquilegia that had self sown. The Couch grass or twitch grass (Elymus repens) took some getting out of here, and we will expect it to creep in from the raspberry cage, but we will keep on top of it the best we can. If it is really hard to keep out next year we could dig down a way and put a plastic barrier down.

Also finished the boundary with old decking boards, so now they are two high on the three outer facing  sides of the plot.

Added two of the raised beds that Norman on the next plot gave to us, they are old Wooden Pallet Collars measuring 1200 x 800mm so these will be great for the two kales we are going to plant out. The plan will be 6 to each bed, one of Borecole Nero di Toscana, and a bed of Borecole Vates Blue Curled.

Next to these we will put the Cabbages (Late Summer/Autumn) - All Season Mix. We think we may be able to get 8 in each bed on the right side.
