Today it was all about preparing the ground for planting as at last the weather is starting to warm up a bit.
Dug over and weeded where the climbing beans are going to be direct sown. 24 canes all in a nice row. We have both Goldfield & Cobra climbing beans to go in there. So hopefully we can nip down during the week and direct sow these. Might be an idea to do one side Goldfield and maybe the other Cobra.
Re-dug over where the Courgette Black Beauty where going, but we have had a change of plan for this spot, it's now going to be where the OCA - Oxalis tuberosa (New Zealand Yam) will live. We have 13 of these currently doing pretty well in 10cm pots at home and they are going to need the space, as from what I have read they will need 60cm between each plant to produce a good crop and we intend to plant as many as we can to get the best value from our £9.54 purchase.
Looks like the moved self seeded ox-eye daisy has survived the trip as well.
The Borecole Vates Blue Curled Kale is now completely in flower with no real crop of leaves to take home. We are going to leave these like this for a while as the bugs and bees love it. We won't have to dig this space over until the Courgette Black Beauty are ready to plant out, and as of now they are just starting to germinate in the pots at home so it will be a few weeks yet before they are ready.
