Aquadulce Claudia Broad Beans and Garlic

Way back in October 2020 we planted our first go at over wintered Broad Beans "Aquadulce Claudia" direct sown. Now that we have had some rain and warmer weather they are doing really well. Loads of flowers. Looks like we will get a good early crop from these, as the Bunyards Exhibition Broad beans that where planted in April 2021 are only now starting to germinate with one or two poking out of the ground. SO this will be our first year for a double crop of Broad beans.

The Garlic was also planted at the same time. These also seem to be doing okay. We can never remember when we start to dig up the garlic, we think it's around July time when the leaves start to turn yellow and start to droop. Lautrec Wight is a hardneck garlic that produce ‘scrapes’ in early summer that are also good eating so it's still early for these yet as they have to got to this stage yet.

The Elephant Garlic we think will also be ready around June/July time.
